Much better weather this week! Looking forward to a great week ahead!!

Bass fishing picked up with the winds laying down.  Most fish are off the beds and hanging in a bit deeper water, 8 to 12 foot.  Look for structure and boulders.  Drop shots are starting to be effective and the tube jigs are always producing.  A few calm days in the forecast and some bug hatches occurring so there will be opportunity for a good top water bite.

Walleye fishing is still fantastic. Night-crawlers and leeches are the bait of choice, although minnows, swim baits, and trolling crank baits are all picking up fish.  Look for deeper water during the day and work up the humps during the low light hours.

Not many reports of muskie being caught this week, although we did have a monster fish hit a walleye coming up on a launch boat.  A few northern are being caught by the guys targeting them, a few over 40 inches last week reported.  Reminder this is the last weekend we can use live bait on Mille Lacs, jump on a launch and enjoy some fantastic fishing and weather!
