Walleye are about to be C&R and musky season upon us

As we approach the weekend, we are saying goodbye to the one walleye limit. As of June 1, 2019 walleye will be catch and release only. The guides and launch captains are starting to find some walleyes out deeper in a variety of sizes. Bobbers, jigs, and jerk baits are still what they are getting them on. The water temps in shallow are around 60-64 degrees while out deep is reading around 56 degrees. Smallmouth have still been biting good on the shallow rocks but as the water temp is rising, they are starting to bed.

Musky fishing is about to open on Saturday June 1. With the good weather and most fisherman spotting them in shallow it should make for a good opener. We will let you know next week how it goes. Good luck to everyone going out. Weather is supposed to be great this weekend!
