Mille Lacs Fishing Report

Mille Lacs Fishing Report

We’ve welcomed the first week of fall here on the big pond with lots of rain! Mille Lacs “football season” is still on as well with nice sized Smallies still being caught in decent numbers. Most of our trips are still seeing good numbers of fish with really nice size. Its been a little more work as the fish are more spread out right now but, anglers are finding action on drop shots, tubes and swim baits. As it has been most of the year, natural colors are still working best. We are seeing the bite change over from crayfish to more perch and bait fish at this time. Fish are scattered depth-wise but, both shallow and deep structure such as boulders and reef edges are still the go-to spots.

Muskie anglers are slowly starting to filter in here and there for the fall bite which will only get better as temps begin to drop and we get further into fall.

There’s still going to be some really nice days to take advantage of and get on the water, we’ll take guide trips as long as the weather permits so be sure to get in on the action before we’re working into winter.
