Slow but steady start, Strong finish

Slow but steady start, Strong finish

We began this week with fishing the bays in about 12-16ft of water, the bite was slow but steady. As the temperatures continue to drop and the ice thickens, we finished  the week strong, fishing in 22-29 ft of water. Jigging will pick up some aggressive fish while a dead stick or tip up with a sucker or fathead are producing nice walleyes as well. You just need to keep moving until you find the active fish. There is still some action in shallow water. If your looking for Northerns, fish the bays with dead sticks, tip ups and rattle reels. The perch have been gobbling up wax worms. The bite is definitely picking up.
